Water Data
Intake, storage, consumption and reuse by facility and source type, rolled into one balance and an intensity figure, structured after GRI 303.
- Standard
- GRI 303 Water and Effluents
- Structure
- An analysis per facility and period
- Status
- Balanced, Review Required, Incomplete
- Intensity
- Site level and per category, when production units agree
Water flows
| Flow | Holds |
|---|---|
| Sources | Named sources: municipal, groundwater, surface, harvested rainwater, recycled purchased, trucked, seawater, other |
| Intake | Water drawn in, metered or estimated, tied to a source |
| Storage | Tanks, ponds, reservoirs and aquifers, with opening and closing inventory |
| Consumption | Water used and not returned, by use category, with optional production volume |
| Reuse | Water recycled on site, by source stream and receiving process |
| Discharge | Water leaving as effluent (GRI 303-4): destination, treatment level and quality. When recorded, it lets Slate cross-check your entered consumption |
Balance and intensity
Running the calculation aggregates every record, compares available water against what was used, and reports a balance difference (diff_m3, diff_pct) against the analysis's tolerance. The status is Balanced, Review Required or Incomplete. Where every consumption record shares one production unit, you also get site-level intensity and a per-category breakdown (category_intensity).
Metered and estimated intake
| Entry method | You provide |
|---|---|
| Metered, Manual Reading | Opening and closing readings; Slate computes the volume |
| Invoice Based, Calculated | A volume |
| Estimated | A volume and Estimation Notes, so a guess is never mistaken for a measurement |
